Political Polarization and Democratic Participation
I examine the relationship between political polarization and civic engagement,
with a focus on affective and ideological divides and their consequences for democratic
participation and political trust in European societies.
Vaccine Hesitancy and Health Literacy
I investigate the social, political, and cultural determinants of vaccine hesitancy
and health literacy, drawing on survey data to examine the role of values,
trust in institutions, and social identities in shaping vaccination attitudes.
Youth Values and Political Participation
I study the political attitudes, civic values, and participation patterns of young people
in Slovenia and cross-nationally, exploring generational change, political
socialisation, and the factors shaping youth civic engagement.
Cultural Participation of Young People
My research on the cultural engagement of young people, including attendance at cultural
events, participation in arts, and access to cultural resources, examines its relationship
with social inequalities and civic identity.
Volunteering in Slovenia
I analyse the scope, drivers, and trends of formal and informal volunteering in
Slovenian society, including comparative European perspectives and
sociodemographic predictors of voluntary activity.
Comparative Cross-National Public Opinion Research
I conduct longitudinal and comparative research using major international survey programmes,
including the European Social Survey, European Values Study, and ISSP, to examine
public opinion dynamics and value change across European societies.
